We are seeking an empathetic Senior UX Designer, within our UHC Consumer Product Office, to join our design studio to help reimagine our digital unauthenticated experiences. We are looking for someone to drive the design strategy across uhc.com and beyond. You will be a partner to a variety of talent including interaction designers, content strategists, optimization teams, researchers and our product and technology partners. You will work closely with all these teams to build and improve digital experiences while ensuring high quality, thoughtful, customer-centered designs are delivered to our users.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide support for the Consumer Experience on UHC consumer sites as needed
• Create UI Design, UI components, Visual Design elements as required
• Manage & enhance design system to support evolving needs of our shoppers and members
• Explore emerging opportunities in the digital healthcare space, evaluate and evangelize as needed
• Interpret insights (analytics, VoC, market feedback etc.) to anticipate user needs and proactively design innovative solutions
• Continually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solving (Be the voice of the user in prioritization, new products and features)
• Learn from and support the UI Design System and improve the components incrementally
• Lead discussion and critique of work, solicit requirements from stakeholders, be a key partner in helping deliver on our mission
• Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
• Actively engage in the team culture and contribute in learning and presentation opportunities across the design organization
• Anticipate customer needs and proactively develops solutions
• Provide design recommendations based on technical feasibility, usability findings, A11y, legal and design best practices
• Maintain a design culture of simple, seamless interfaces and components
• Review work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement
• Authorize deviations from current standards based on analytics or evidence-based observations
• May lead functional or segment teams or projects
• Motivate and inspire other team members

Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of hands on experience with interaction design and/or ux design
• 4+ years of experience working with multiple teams and competing priorities.
• 4+ years incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)
• 4+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Figjam, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure)
• 2+ years of experience working in cross functional teams
• 2+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions
• Experience working in healthcare
• Information architecture experience
• Experience working with or on Agile teams including planning to support roadmaps, capacity, and sprint planning
• Experience working in a large corporate environment
• Ability to drive a team and business leaders on all initiative phases including achieving clarity on scope and deliverables
• Ability to foster collaboration and create relationships with individuals on and outside of your direct team
• Proven track record of driving change in a large, complex matrixed environment even amid ambiguous circumstances
• Proven bias toward action and innovative big-picture thinking while improving processes and optimizing operations
• Proven excellent resource management skills
• Willing to learn, pivot and grow

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
