A leading financial services firm headquartered in McLean, VA is currently seeking a UX Content / Conversation Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role supporting strategic AI and conversational design initiatives, focused on creating user-centric chatbot and IVR experiences.
About the Opportunity:
• Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid – 10+ days/month onsite at McLean, VA HQ
• Schedule: Standard business hours
• Setting: Financial services / enterprise technology
• Contract Type: W-2 or C2C accepted
Responsibilities:
The UX Content / Conversation Designer will be responsible for:
• Designing end-to-end conversation flows for chatbot, IVR, and other conversational interfaces
• Writing and editing natural, user-friendly conversational content that aligns with brand voice
• Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to develop and implement conversation strategies
• Leveraging user data and testing feedback to optimize conversational experiences
• Defining intents, utterances, and dialog logic for NLU platforms
• Helping to create and maintain internal design guidelines and documentation
• Promoting accessibility and inclusive language in all conversational touchpoints
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in conversation design or UX content creation
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field
• Strong portfolio of conversational work (chat, voice, or multimodal)
• Proficiency in platforms like Dialogflow, Rasa, IBM Watson, or Voiceflow
• Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and accessibility best practices
• Excellent writing and editing skills with an ear for natural language
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self-starter with the ability to handle ambiguity and evolving requirements
Desired Skills:
• Experience in the financial services or fintech industry
• Background in linguistics, UX research, or technical writing
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Jira, or Confluence
• Curiosity and empathy when designing for diverse users
