Job Description:
Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) has an immediate opportunity for a UX/UI Design Specialist to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Department of Quality Assurance, Internal Compliance, and Oversight (QICO). The successful candidate should have training in UI/UX design with foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively analyze, interpret, and communicate data through impactful visualizations.
Job Responsibilities:
Working with the Business Performance Team, the successful candidate is responsible for supporting the development and execution of QICO’s business intelligence strategy. This includes gathering, organizing, and analyzing data to provide insights that inform business decision-making processes and solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams across the organization to develop intuitive and user-friendly designs, wireframes, and technical interfaces. Specific tasks include but are not limited to the following. Collaborate with Design Specialist on print and digital projects to ensure cohesive visual communications across digital and print media on various projects. Create infographics, reports, and graphical presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights. Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure data quality and integrity. Develop and maintain a variety of reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business goals using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Conduct ad hoc data analysis and modeling to support business initiatives and answer key organizational questions. Present UI/UX concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback into iterative design improvements. Develop UI prototypes and demonstrate functionality to internal teams and stakeholders. Identify and troubleshoot UX problems, applying adjustments to enhance usability and overall user satisfaction. Ensure adherence to style standards for fonts, color, and images Use wireframe tools and design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) to create and refine designs.
Desired Qualifications/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Data/Business Analytics, or a related field 5+ years of work experience in the field In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience and/or coursework. Experience working on branding and/or marketing/communications projects. Ability to display an online portfolio of work samples highlighting expertise in UI/UX design and front-end development
Desired Skills:
• Ability to synthesize complicated information into digestible infographics and data visualizations, to enhance the delivery of information to stakeholders The ability to grasp user needs, goals, and business rules quickly, ensuring a deep understanding of the project requirements. Excellent design skills with knowledge of UX/UI best practices and the ability to create clear, actionable visual Experience creating and implementing UI designs, showcasing a keen eye for aesthetics and usability. Ability to wear multiple UX hats, contributing to different aspects of the UX process as needed. Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign software. Front-end development experience (.NET, D3, JavaScript) Experience in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. HTML and CSS.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
