Our client, a forward-thinking technology company, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead UX/UI Designer to drive the design direction for their innovative product suite. This position is based in our Washington, D.C., US office and requires a dedicated presence for on-site collaboration and team synergy. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and crafting exceptional user experiences and intuitive interfaces that delight our users and set new industry standards.
As the Lead UX/UI Designer, you will guide the entire design process from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and final visual design. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to translate complex requirements into elegant and user-centered solutions. Your role will involve leading design initiatives, mentoring junior designers, and advocating for design best practices throughout the organization. We are looking for a visionary individual who can inspire creativity and deliver designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and aligned with business goals.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design for new and existing products. Conducting user research, creating personas, and mapping user journeys to identify user needs and pain points. Developing wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications. Translating complex concepts into intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces. Collaborating closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical constraints. Establishing and maintaining design systems, style guides, and brand consistency across all product interfaces. Mentoring and guiding junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment. Presenting design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, effectively communicating design decisions and user insights. Conducting usability testing and iterating on designs based on user feedback and data analysis. Staying current with the latest UX/UI design trends, tools, and technologies. Championing user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the organization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategy and roadmap from a design perspective. Problem-solving design challenges and proposing creative solutions. Working effectively within an agile development environment. We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful product design outcomes. Proven experience leading design projects and mentoring teams is essential. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar is required. Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design is crucial. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders in our Washington, D.C., US office and beyond.
