About the position
Responsibilities
• Develop high-quality, user-centered digital experiences across all media forms, including mobile, website, applications, and social spaces.
• Generate information architecture, wireframes, user flow models, and interactive prototypes to optimize user tasks and design for multi-channel deployment.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and copywriters to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and understand end user’s needs, goals, and objectives.
• Conduct user research to better understand clients and their needs and ensure the usability of products.
• Participate in customer events as needed to gather insights and feedback.
• Incorporate best practices to ensure the highest levels of accessibility and usability, maintaining Section 508 compliance.
• Maintain multiple projects simultaneously, balancing varying deadlines and changing priorities.
• Perform regular site monitoring for quality and consistency, troubleshooting problem areas as they arise.
• Construct, deploy, and evaluate testing models for usability, accessibility, and functionality.
• Translate complex information needs into simple designs that customers can easily understand.
• Document business, functional, and end-user requirements, creating user-facing documentation and training material as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human Factors, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or a High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of four years of experience supporting a complex digital environment with multiple products.
• Experience conceptualizing and designing digital interactive tools for the web.
• Expertise in typography, composition, color, layout, design thinking, and content strategy in design solutions.
• Comfortable working on a geographically dispersed team and collaborating remotely.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with usability testing and user feedback analysis.
• Familiarity with emerging accessibility standards beyond Section 508.
• Knowledge of coding languages to better understand design implementation.
